Jamming jom!!

It has been so long since I've stepped foot into a jamming studio, that feeling of anxiety and just the excitement of playing in a band has long been pushed away from my mind. Reason being : Org Kg hiatus lama sangat dah!! Mana pergi drummer aku? Mana pergi bassist?? Takpe, while Org Kg hiatus, it's time for another new band in the making, and who else to be my band member than my soulmate, Hanan! So then, off we went to Akar Karya studio over at Uptown Damansara. Who would have known that this girl had the intensity and the musical approach that would not only surprise me by jamming along with me, tapi siap we made a few tracks as well (2 to be exact). You truly are my everything jellybee!

I know that she is so interested in playing the drums, and all I did was just teach her a few basic drum beats, after that off she went into this drum goddess from the heavens mode (too much is it? hhehehe). On this night we went jamming, she amazed me....again, and I had a new found admiration for her (walaupun dah cukup banyak dah pun admiration towards you, tau tak?) Jom jamming lagi baby!! Hehe.

Walking with a rockin' attitude! (tengah cari inspirasi sambil berjalan)

Checklist to be a rockstar : Long hair - check, Gaya - check, Bell-bottomed jeans- DOUBLE CHECK! Hehehe.

Rock those drums!

"One, two, three, four, five....count till when meem?"

No matter how rockin' you get baby, you'll always be the cutest girl in the whole wide world nano! Me loves you!

Pavlov's Theory

Well, I'm not sure how my favorite dessert got its name..but that doesn't matter much to me, since I just love eating it and to my amazement, I had fun making it!
How I got around to making this 'melt-in-your mouth' dessert was during one boring evening..when I was having my usual chocolate cravings and I thought it was about the right time for me to try out Nigella Lawson's 'Chocolate Pavlova' ( I super love Nigella btw, I like to think that she inspired me to cook in the first place).

Me, happily arranging the strawberries..

Actually, we were both suppose to make this dessert together.. but I got so excited that I didn't wait for him to arrive to start baking and he arrived just in time to help me do the chocolate shavings! Thank you sayang.. I'm sorry Meem, I just cant wait to make it! Lets make it together next time, I promise I'll stay patient :-)

Nigella's recipe is so simple to make and the ingredients are easy to obtain, please try making it as im sure it'll impress!

Happy baking.

A taste of Italy @ Sassorosso

We are both avid Italian food lovers, and the moment he stumbled upon a restaurant which has wood fired oven pizza, we just can't say no! Sassorosso is located at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng in a nice, quaint bungalow which makes the ambiance very warm and classy at the same time. We both opted for al-fresco dining that night since the weather was perfect and there's nothing more romantic than a candle-light dinner in the lush greenery of the surroundings :-)

A selection of bread given to dip in extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar.. i particularly love the crispy triangular thin bread which has a sprinkle of salt on it!

My meemos enjoying his bread!

and..Me! with the thirst quenching watermelon juice.

For starters, we choose scallops served on top of a bed of vege or officially in the menu as pan fried scallops with Belgium endive and taleggio fondue. This dish was drizzled with creamy sauce that got both of us going gaga... it was delish! to say the least.

We shared both our mains that night, as we usually do.. he chose this ravioli dish which had the most delicious sauce ever, although we can't remember the name of the dish. Sadly, this tasted soo good that we both didnt manage to snap a picture before it entered our tummies.

And of course, the main reason we dined here was to have their infamous wood fire oven pizza. We selected "SASSOROSSO" which consists of Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella Cheese, Escargots, Marinated Mushrooms, Prawns and Fresh Basil. Yummy!
We were so stuffed by the time the pizza came that we didnt even manage to finish it which was why we didnt get any desserts...well, maybe next time! We both would definately come here again for the fresh food, great service and romantic ambiance :-)
